My kids love get up early in the morning and get ready for school. This in itself is a breakthrough. School has never been so popular with the kids and this has changed all because of your system. The relationship between children and their teachers seem to be finally working and this is a lot to be proud of.

I think you are doing a great job and we hope for your continued success. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Governor of Erbil Attends Appreciation Dinner for PPP Staff
Tuesday, January 26, 2010

In December, staff of Fakhir Mergasori International School and Sarwaran International School, PPP schools managed by SABIS®, enjoyed a dinner in the presence of honorary Governor of Erbil, Mr. Nawzad Hadi, and a number of special guests. The dinner was held to extend appreciation to local staff for their continuous commitment to making the PPP project a success and to improve the quality of education in Kurdistan.

The dinner was also an occasion for Ministry of Education (MOE) staff members, who had completed the introductory program at the first PPP School, Fakhir Mergasori International School, to receive a certificate of completion. This is part of the English Language training program provided by SABIS® expat teachers and the SABIS® University to MOE staff members so that they acquire the ability to teach English effectively. With each level of training completed, MOE staff members receive a certificate of completion in coordination with the SABIS® University.

The certificates were distributed by the Governor, SABIS® Representative in Iraq, Mr. Raed Mahmoud, the Director General of Froble Company for Educational Services, Mr. Sabah Qadir, and the Director of Education in Erbil, Mrs. Pakhesa Talat.

In a joint effort, the Kurdistan Regional Government and SABIS® Educational Services have embarked upon an educational project that focuses on raising the standard of education in the public system. Through a unique management agreement, SABIS® will provide its international curriculum and books and will appoint SABIS® education trainers to work with the local teachers so that they can satisfy local educational and professional criteria. This project will serve as a model for improving education in Iraq at both the primary and secondary levels.
