An essential part of all SABIS^® schools is the belief that no one is allowed to 'fail in peace' and every effort is made to ensure success. At Fakhir Mergasori International School (managed by SABIS^®), this belief is strongly advocated throughout the school and particularly by the Student Life Academy (SLA).

The SLA at FMIS gives students extra support in areas that need strengthening in English and math. FMIS staff, along with Shadow Teachers^® from the International School of Choueifat – Erbil, report for duty every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM to provide content support and supervision.

Shadow Teachers™, with the guidance of FMIS staff, provide help to the young students in specific areas that have been identified by the AQCs. In order to ensure that the SLA runs smoothly, all content and study materials are prepared and organized ahead of time. During the teaching sessions, Shadow Teachers™ follow SABIS^® teaching methodologies and check, throughout the lesson, class work and give academic support. Socially, the Student Life Academy also contributes significantly to the FMIS community by setting an example for the young FMIS students.

In a nutshell, the Student Life Academy provides young FMIS students with the necessary support to achieve their full potential. They strengthen their knowledge, develop self-discipline and self-confidence, and acquire life skills.
